Abstract. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of two levels of calcium (100 and 200 mg Ca2+ dm-3) derived from Ca(NO3)2, Ca(NO3)2 + 30% CaCl2 and CaCl2 on the yield and occurrence of blossom-end rot in greenhouse tomatoes ‘Geronimo F1’ and DRW 7428F1 (type Cunero).

Summary
The effect of two levels (100 and 200 mg Ca2+·dm-3) and three forms of calcium (I – Ca(NO3)2, II – CaCl2, III – Ca(NO3)2, +30% Ca in CaCl2) on yield, mean weight, blossom-end rot of greenhouse tomato cv. ‘Geronimo F1’ and DRW 7428F1 (type Cunero) was studied. Both, total and marketable yield as well as the mean fruit weight of ‘Geronimo F1’ was significantly higher as compared with DRW 7428F1. The highest total and marketable yield was obtained for tomato cv. ‘Geronimo F1’ grown in solution containing 200 mg Ca as CaCl2. Statistical analysis revealed a distinct correlation between mean weight of fruit and occurrence of bloosom-end rot.
